CHRIS BREED
Partner, Designer
Chris Breed was born and raised in Ramsey, England. Relocating
to London in the early 1980s, he worked as a high fashion model
by day and manager of the hottest restaurants and clubs by night.
Modeling eventually catapulted Breed to New York, where he resumed
his successful restaurant and club career at such high profile venues
as Café Iguana, The Palladium and Tunnel.
Arriving on the West Coast in 1990, Breed redefined Hollywood nightlife
with the Roxbury Supper Club, later orchestrating the opening of
three successful L.A. restaurantsKatchina Grill, Benvenuto
and Authentic Babylon. Breeds unique instinct in restaurant
design placed him in the forefront of cutting-edge designers on
the West Coast. Constantly refining his trend-setting vision, he
traveled to San Francisco to create the Essex Supper Club and then
ushered in the New Millennium with the opening of the Rio Club on
the Las Vegas Strip.
In 1999 Breed and partner Alan Hajjar opened the storied Sunset
Room restaurant and bar. Breeds career took a historic turn
when he re-opened the famous Hollywood landmark, Pign Whistle,
in April 2001 to rave reviews. Then, in March 2003, Breed utilized
his flair for attracting an A-list clientele, and successfully opened
the Hollywood hotspot White Lotus.
Most recently, Breeds active involvement in the reincarnation
of The Sunset Room as CABANA CLUB & Sterling Steakhouse has
gone beyond conceptualizing great ideas. Breed is a dynamic force
in creating the innovative design found throughout the club, personally
responsible for the underground wine cellar, elevated bandstand
for a jazz trio, and outdoor patio with a fireplace. Firmly ensconced
as one of the key players in the Renaissance of Hollywood,
Breed was recently appointed the prestigious position of chair for
LAPDS committee on Hollywoods restaurants and nightclubs.
ALAN HAJJAR

Room, the Roxbury Supper Club, the Essex Supper Club, and restored
the historic Pign Whistle to its former glory. Hajjar, whose
family owned several restaurants when he was growing up in Lebanon,
